About our Founder

Shadrack Magara who spent 24 years in prison, 15 of which were on death row. His incarceration was triggered by reckless and delinquent behaviour as a youth. By age 17, he was deeply involved in drug abuse which led him into promiscuity, and later worry that he had contracted HIV&AIDS. While in prison, he tested negative for HIV, and this was his turning point. At the time of his release, he was afraid to return to the mainstream society. He had not only lost skills, but also time, friends, relations, and a reputation. Through self-reflection and with the support of his family and friends, Shadrack has been able to turn his life around. He is well integrated into society, married, and working productively.
